KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 — Police are said to have begun an investigation into the screening of a sex video allegedly involving an opposition leader to selected journalists here on Monday.

Bernama has learnt that several media practitioners were summoned by the police to help in the investigation into the screening of the video at Carcosa Seri Negara here.

It is understood that they were asked to describe in detail the screening of the video by three individuals who identified themselves as “Datuk T”, the “T” standing for trio.

The three individuals revealed themselves today as businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, former Malacca chief minister Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik and Datuk Shuib Lazim, treasurer of Malay right-wing group, Perkasa.

It is understood that statements were recorded from the media practitioners at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters.

The investigation comes in the wake of a police report lodged yesterday by opposition leader and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Ibrahim, who denied that he was the man in the sex video, charged that it was yet another conspiracy to malign him and his family and tarnish his political career. — Bernama
